With grateful hearts for a lifetime of beautiful memories, the family of Larry Edward Byford of Iron River, Alberta regretfully announces his passing on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
Larry is lovingly survived by his siblings, who will hold him close to their hearts; Gloria Balla, Betty (Paul) Davediuk, Lonny (Shirley) Byford, Wauneata (Winston) Yakoweshen; Larry will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and special friends, all whom he treasured dearly.
Larry was predeceased by his parents: Ed & Kay Byford; sister: Norma (Alex) Gelety; brother-in-law: Rudolph Balla; niece: Maxine Balla-French; great niece: Amber Gelety.
Celebration of Larry’s Life, Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., Bonnyville Fellowship Alliance Church, Bonnyville, Alberta, with Pastor Kelly Sibley officiating. Larry will be laid to rest at the Iron River United Church Cemetery, Iron River, Alberta in the spring.
Larry was deeply passionate about caring and maintaining the Iron River United Church Cemetery; he even paid for a new fence, which will be erected later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that tributes in his memory be sent to the Iron River United Church Cemetery, c/o Lenore Picray, PO Box 78, Iron River, AB T0A 2A0 or brought to Larry’s Celebration of Life.
