Two Hills RCMP Arrest Suspect After Break and Enter at Andrew School

A man is facing multiple charges after Two Hills RCMP responded to an early morning break and enter at Andrew School in Lamont County.

What Happened

RCMP say an interior alarm was triggered at Andrew School at around 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2026. A security company was alerted and by 6:06 a.m. it was confirmed an unauthorized male was inside the building.

Two Hills RCMP responded immediately and arrived on scene at approximately 6:10 a.m. Officers were given access to the building by authorized personnel and arrested the lone male suspect inside.

Cash Box Stolen and Recovered

Police determined that both the school and the attached village office had been entered without authorization through an exterior door. A cash box was stolen during the incident but was later recovered.

Charges Laid

Randall James Hamaliuk, 50, of Lamont County, has been charged with:

  • Mischief

  • Theft under $5,000

  • Two counts of break and enter

Hamaliuk was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2026. RCMP note that any follow-up media inquiries regarding the court outcome should be directed to the court office.
