On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Mr. Brian Michael McEvoy passed away suddenly at home at the age of 66 years. Brian was a devoted husband to Pamela, his wife of 46 years, and a loving father to his two daughters, Katie (Jason) Maruniak and Amanda (Robert) Hudson. He was a proud grandfather to Alexander and River Maruniak, who brought him immense joy. Brian is also survived by his brother, Stuart (Leslie) McEvoy, and his brother-in-law, Rob Arndt.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Alice McEvoy, and his brother, David.
Throughout his life, Brian dedicated himself to service. He began his career as a firefighter and rose to the position of fire chief, leading with courage and compassion. He also served as a navy cadet leader, mentoring young people with discipline and care, and later as a councillor for the Town of Bonnyville, where he worked tirelessly to strengthen his community.
A tribute to Brian’s life will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1100 hrs at the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre, Graham Field House. For those who wish to see Brian, there will be a viewing from 1000 hrs to 1045 hrs at the Graham Field House. Please dress in Class A’s if available.
Brian will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his friends, his leadership, and his deep sense of duty. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
