Stepping Stones Crisis Centre Announces Leadership Transition
The Board of Directors of Stepping Stones Crisis Society has accepted the resignation of Melissa Francis from the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective December 4, 2025.
The Board wishes to thank Ms. Francis for her contributions to the Society. In particular, the Board acknowledges her significant leadership and dedication during the development and completion of the Society’s new facility. This building stands as a testament to the hard work required to expand our capacity to help those in need, and it will serve the Cold Lake and Lakeland region for years to come.
To ensure the continuity of our operations and programs, the Board has appointed Jody Hawkridge as Interim CEO, effective immediately. The Board has full confidence in Mrs. Hawkridge and our dedicated staff to maintain the high standard of care and support our clients rely on during this transition.
Our primary focus remains steadfast on our core mission: to provide safety, support, and hope to women, children, and families impacted by violence and trauma. The community can be assured that our services will continue without interruption.
The Board of Directors will launch a comprehensive recruitment process for a new CEO shortly.
