Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority Announces Launch of Station 10 – Cherry Grove Operations
Cherry Grove will have a faster, stronger line of defence starting December 3 at 7pm. That is when the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) officially brings Station 10 into full emergency response service, marking a major milestone for the growing community.
A Year of Training Pays Off
After a full year of preparation, Station 10’s firefighters are ready to roll.
“Station 10 members have been training and preparing to serve the community for the past year, with strong support from all BRFA Stations and Administration. The team is well-trained, well-prepared, and fully equipped to respond,” said Alicia Krawchuk, Regional Chief of Emergency Services.
Built for the Community
Construction on the new station began in summer 2024 and wrapped up in October. Since then, BRFA has been busy outfitting the facility with the equipment and apparatus needed to operate at full capacity.
“We are incredibly proud to see Station 10 come online,” said Darren Sandbeck, Chief Administrative Officer. “This project reflects the commitment of our members, our partners, and our community to strengthening regional emergency services. Cherry Grove residents can be confident that they now have a highly capable and dedicated team ready to respond when needed.”
What Homeowners Need to Know
Residents wondering whether the new station affects their insurance rates or coverage should contact their insurance providers directly. Each company handles fire protection changes differently.
