Council thanks past college president while welcoming the new
Council bid a heartfelt farewell to Portage College’s outgoing president and welcomed the new president during the November 25 Regular Council Meeting.
Outgoing President Nancy Broadbent introduced Portage College’s new President and CEO, Dr. Stephen Price during a presentation of Portage College’s annual update.
“We have been very fortunate to have such a wonderful relationship with Nancy over the years,” said Mayor Bob Mattice. “Portage College is an important organization in our community, and we are looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with Stephen as he gets settled into his new role.”
The City of Cold Lake and Portage College have partnered on numerous projects over the years, helping to elevate education and resources in the Lakeland. The most recent partnership includes the creation and housing of the upcoming Aircraft Structures Technician Certificate program, for which classes will take place at the Cold Lake Regional Airport.
“We want to thank Nancy for all the great years we have spent working together,” said Mattice. “Portage has made great strides under her leadership and we know she will continue to thrive as she moves on.”
