Carle McFarlane
June 1, 1936 – November 25, 2025
Carle (James) McFarlane, aged 89, passed away on November 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He is remembered for his humour, quick wit, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Carle is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Heather, with whom he shared ountless memories since they moved to Cold Lake, Alberta, in 1963.
Carle is also survived by his four daughters: Audrey McFarlane (Paul Odell) of Cold Lake, Lynn McFarlane of Cold Lake, AB, Andrea Cooper (Dale Cooper) of Edmonton, AB, and Bonnie Vos
(Rich Vos) of Hillsborough, New Jersey. He took great pride in being a grandfather to six grandchildren: Quinn Cooper (Kendra Gusdal) of Christopher Lake, SK, Austin Cooper of Edmonton, AB, Colton Cooper (Kiara) of Edmonton, AB, Bryce Odell (Casey Labrie) of Edmonton, AB, Carley Odell (Tristian) of Cold Lake, AB, and Rayna Vos of Hillsborough, New Jersey.
He is also survived by two brothers, Ed McFarlane of Harris, Sk and Roy McFarlane of Saskatoon, Sk.
Carle was born into a loving family and is predeceased by his parents, Aurther and Mary McFarlane, as well as two brothers, Tom and Wallace McFarlane, and two sisters, Nora Longworth and Mary Ellen Clayton.
Throughout his life, Carle embraced every moment with hard work, resilience and stories, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
A celebration of Carle’s life will be held at Cherry Grove Community Hall on December 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
