École des Beaux-Lacs Girls Punch Ticket to 1A Provincial Volleyball Championships

The École des Beaux-Lacs senior girls’ volleyball team is heading to provincials after a statement weekend in Marwayne where they captured gold at the NEASAA 1A zone championships. The win secures their spot at the 1A Girls Provincial Championship Tournament taking place in Manning from 27–29 November.

A Dominant Zone Performance

Zones brought together schools from across northeast Alberta, but it was the Beaux-Lacs girls who rose to the moment. Playing with confidence, cohesion and a work ethic that showed in every set, they powered through the bracket and claimed the top of the podium.

Their success is no overnight story. Many of the athletes have been developing together since elementary school, guided by a long-term coaching philosophy that puts growth, leadership and teamwork ahead of short-term wins. That foundation showed this season, as the team held their own against much larger 3A opponents and proved they could match skill with determination.

Every athlete contributed throughout the season and the zone tournament, reflecting the depth and unity within the group. The mix of young talent and steady leadership has been a hallmark of their play.

School and Community Behind Them

École des Beaux-Lacs staff, families and students filled the stands all weekend, backing the team with every rally. The school community has been behind the girls from the first serve of the season and now carries that pride into the provincial stage.

The players’ consistency, resilience and strong team culture were celebrated by the school as they advance to represent Beaux-Lacs in Manning. Their run to provincials is a point of pride not only for the school but for the wider community that has cheered them on all season.

With zones behind them and momentum on their side, the École des Beaux-Lacs girls now set their sights on the 1A Provincial Championships. The community will be watching and cheering as they take the court later this week.
