Bonnyville Voyageurs Are FINAL-BOUND
There are cold nights… and then there are Bonnyville football playoff cold nights. The kind where your coffee freezes mid-sip and every parent in the stands starts bargaining with the universe: “If we win, I’ll never complain about the price of mittens again.”
But tonight?
Totally worth it.
Because the Voyageurs punched their ticket to the Championship Final, and the sideline energy between Coach Ryan Fox and Coach Larry Godziuk could’ve powered the stadium lights on its own.
This wasn’t just a win — it was the kind of small-town, full-heart, dig-deep performance that makes you proud to live where you live.
Coach Fox: “All the grind — it paid off.”
Coach Ryan Fox looked like a man who’d just watched every early-morning practice, every cold-weather rep, every “coach can we go inside now?” moment come full circle.
He said it straight:
“All the work, all the cold practices, all the grind – it paid off tonight.”
Fox isn’t dramatic — he’s practical. If you want to win in November, you’d better be ready for November. And these boys were ready.
Coach Godziuk: “One more battle.”
Right beside him, Coach Larry Godziuk had that classic Bonnyville grin — half pride, half relief, half “please don’t make me talk for too long because I can’t feel my face.”
Larry kept it simple but powerful:
“One more game. One more battle. One more chance to show what Bonnyville Football is all about.”
That’s coach-speak for:
“Buckle up, Edmonton. We’re bringing the noise.”
Two Coaches. One Message. A Whole Town Behind Them.
Both Fox and Godziuk made sure the win didn’t stay on the field. They tossed it right back up into the frozen bleachers where parents, grandparents, siblings, and the die-hards stood stomping their feet like they were trying to keep circulation alive.
As Coach Fox added:
“Thank you to everyone who came out, froze in the stands, and cheered your hearts out – this win is yours too.”
You could almost hear every fan go,
“Well… yeah… we are pretty awesome.”
Next stop: Edmonton. Friday. 6:00pm.
Let’s be honest: Bonnyville travels well.
Pack the Tim’s, load the kids, grab the blankets that look like they were stolen off Grandma’s couch — we’re filling those stands and turning Edmonton into Voyageur Country for one night.
Because this isn’t just a game.
It’s a chance to finish something that’s been building since Day 1.
A chance to show Alberta exactly what Bonnyville football is made of:
Grit, heart, a questionable amount of layers, and a team that refuses to quit.
Voyageurs on 3…
1, 2, 3 — VOYAGEURS!
