U13 AA Panthers – Weekend Split at the Cenovus Energy Arena
What’s up, Lakeland — Brinson here with your U13 AA Panthers weekend breakdown. Two home games at the Cenovus Energy Arena inside the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre, one big win, one tough battle, and a whole lot of compete.
Saturday, Nov 15
Lakeland Panthers 5 • Fort McMurray Jr Oil Barons 2
The tone was set immediately. Skyrpan buried just twelve seconds in, thanks to a slick feed from Rendell, and the Panthers never looked back.
Fort Mac answered twice, but Lakeland counterpunched every time:
• Rendell with a quick strike of his own.
• Nash capitalising seconds later off Rondeau and Flumian — huge momentum swing.
In the second, Kalinski notched his 10th of the season to stretch the lead, and the Panthers played with pace and confidence the rest of the way.
Late in the third, discipline from Fort Mac opened the door and Rondeau finished the night on the powerplay, assisted by Lecky and Brosseau.
The Numbers
▪️ Shots: Panthers 43 – Fort Mac 20
▪️ Powerplay: 1/4
▪️ Seitz: 18 saves on 20 shots — steady, controlled, no panic
A complete win in all three zones. Depth scoring showed up, structure held, and Seitz did exactly what you need from your starter.
Sunday, Nov 16
Elan Beaumont Athletic Club 5 • Lakeland Panthers 2
Beaumont came in disciplined, structured, and heavy on the puck. They built a 3–0 lead through forty minutes, forcing the Panthers to play from behind.
But credit to Lakeland — the third period showed serious character.
A powerplay gave them life when Klassen buried off a sharp passing play from Lecky and Rendell.
Moments later, Rendell snapped home his seventh of the season to pull the Panthers within one.
At 3–2, the arena had some juice… but Beaumont pushed back late to close the door.
The Numbers
▪️ Shots: Beaumont 40 – Panthers 31
▪️ Powerplay: 1/1
▪️ Dybaylo: 35 saves — battled hard and kept the group in striking distance
Beaumont’s defensive structure was the difference, but the Panthers’ third-period push showed exactly what this team is capable of when they play fast and connected.
Brinson’s Bench Notes
🔥 Rendell is red hot — tracking pucks, creating plays, finishing in big moments.
🔥 Depth scoring key — Saturday’s goals came from everywhere in the lineup.
🔥 Both goalies dialled in — Seitz and Dybaylo gave quality starts.
🔥 Discipline matters — when Lakeland stays calm, they control the game flow.
This team has the pieces. The weekend split showed both the standard they can play at, and the areas they’re sharpening as the season rolls on.
