Bonnyville Friendship Centre CEO Appointed to Alberta’s FNMI Bursary Committee
Bonnyville Friendship Centre CEO Janet Gobert has been appointed to the Government of Alberta’s FNMI (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) Bursary Committee for a two-year term.
The provincial committee is responsible for reviewing applications and guiding the delivery of bursaries that support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education. The programme is designed to increase access to higher learning, strengthen opportunities for Indigenous learners and contribute to long-term community and provincial development.
Gobert’s appointment reflects her ongoing work in education support, equity initiatives and relationship building with Indigenous families and communities throughout the region. Her experience will contribute to the committee’s mandate of ensuring students receive appropriate recognition, support and financial assistance as they continue their studies.
She will serve on the committee until 2027.
