Cold Lake Prepares to Remember and Honour Canada’s Fallen Heroes
Legion Branch 211 and 4 Wing Cold Lake lead city-wide tribute on November 11
Cold Lake will come together on Monday, November 11, to honour the sacrifices of Canada’s veterans at the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.
The ceremony will begin at 10:50 a.m., followed by a parade. Residents are encouraged to arrive early and carpool, as parking is limited. Attendees should be seated by 10:30 a.m. to allow the program to begin on time.
The ceremony will include a full parade, a wreath-laying service, and participation from 4 Wing Cold Lake. Following the event, community members are invited to gather at the Royal Canadian Legion in Cold Lake South for refreshments and remembrance.
A smaller outdoor service will also take place at the main cenotaph in Cold Lake North, organized by local youth and community volunteers.
Remembrance Day serves as a time for reflection and gratitude—an opportunity for families to honour those who served and sacrificed for Canada’s freedom. Community participation helps ensure the legacy of remembrance continues from one generation to the next.
Donations from the annual Poppy Campaign and wreath sponsorships stay within the community, supporting veterans and their families in the Cold Lake area.
