BRFA lifts Fire Advisory for MD and surrounding areas.

FIRE ADVISORY LIFTED for: MD of Bonnyville No. 87, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows and Village of Glendon

DESCRIPTION:

Following recent precipitation, the Fire Advisory has been lifted for the MD of Bonnyville No. 87, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows, and the Village of Glendon. As Fire Season officially ends tomorrow, we urge caution with any winter burning activities. Although surface fuels have been dampened by recent moisture, underlying soil conditions remain dry. This soil moisture deficit increases the risk of deep-burning ground fires, particularly in areas with organic soils. We strongly advise that all winter burn sites be regularly monitored to ensure complete extinguishment. Exercise extreme caution to prevent smouldering fires from persisting underground.

Please Note: From November 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026, fire permits will no longer be required. However, we ask that you notify the dispatch center prior to burning by calling 780-826-7446.
