Halloween Hours Set in Elk Point as Community Gears Up for Biggest Celebration Yet
The Town of Elk Point has set official Halloween hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with several community events planned to make this year’s celebration one of the biggest yet.
Town council recently approved both the Halloween hours and a request from the Elk Point Lions Club to host a Trunk-or-Treat event at the asphalt pad and gazebo area near the splash park. The event invites local businesses and community groups to hand out treats and showcase their services at a safe, central location — an alternative to traditional trick-or-treating in downtown.
The fun doesn’t end there. Families can also take part in the Community Halloween Party at the Seniors Recreation Centre from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring costume judging at 7 p.m. and a Halloween colouring contest for children. Colouring sheets are available at Golden Loaf Bakery, with completed entries due by 10 a.m. on October 31. Prizes will be awarded at the party in four age categories: 0–3, 4–6, 7–9, and 10+.
The festivities kick off early with a Pumpkin Painting Contest hosted by Cornerstone Co-op and the Town of Elk Point on October 26 from 12 to 4 p.m. Painted pumpkins will be displayed throughout the week for public voting, with winners announced on Halloween day.
With a packed lineup of events and activities, Elk Point is ready to deliver a Halloween full of community spirit, creativity, and family fun.
