RCMP Recover Stolen Vehicles, Firearms, and Contraband in Beaverdam Area Raid

A search warrant executed by Cold Lake RCMP’s Crime Reduction and General Investigation Units on Oct. 21, 2025, led to the recovery of several stolen vehicles, firearms, ammunition, and contraband cigarettes from a rural property in the Beaverdam area.

During the operation, officers seized:
▪️ 3 vehicles
▪️ 1 flat deck trailer
▪️ 2 off-highway vehicles
▪️ 7 firearms
▪️ 1 prohibited firearm magazine
▪️ About 5,000 rounds of ammunition
▪️ Around 4,200 contraband cigarettes

As a result, 38-year-old Russell Dick, of no fixed address, was charged with:
▪️ Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
▪️ Operation of motor vehicle while prohibited
▪️ Possession of a weapon contrary to court order

Dick was remanded into custody following a hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul on Oct. 23, 2025.

“This investigation led to a significant seizure of stolen property and firearms by one of Alberta RCMP’s Crime Reduction Units,” said Staff Sgt. James Morton, acting Operations Officer for Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District. “These units focus on offenders causing the most harm in our communities and play a crucial role in enhancing public safety.”
