Cold Lake Food Bank Welcomes New Executive Director, Michelle Myers

Last Updated: October 22, 2025By

The Cold Lake Food Bank has announced Michelle Myers as its new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter for the organization and the community it serves.

A Passion for People and Community

Michelle brings years of experience in communications, events, and non-profit leadership, along with a deep passion for collaboration and community service. Known for her creativity and people-first approach, she’s eager to build on the strong foundation already in place.

Meeting a Growing Need

The Food Bank continues to see an increase in demand, with client intake rising by roughly 20% each year. Rising food costs have made it even more challenging, but thanks to dedicated volunteers, donors, and partnerships, the organization has expanded its service days and strengthened its regional reach.

For Michelle, the numbers are more than statistics — they’re a call to action.

“When I learned that nearly half, 48%, of the people we serve are under 18, it stopped me in my tracks,” says Myers. “It’s a reminder that food insecurity is not just about hunger, it’s about our kids, our health and our community’s future. That reality is one of the biggest reasons I felt called to take on this role.”

Building a Sustainable Future

Under her leadership, the Cold Lake Food Bank aims to continue growing its capacity, deepening community partnerships, and advancing long-term, compassionate food security for everyone in need.

The Board of Directors extends its sincere gratitude to the staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this work possible — and welcomes Michelle Myers with optimism for what’s ahead.
