Bonnyville voters have signalled clear confidence in their local leadership, returning the entire town council for another term in the 2025 municipal election. Mayor Elisa Brosseau was acclaimed, securing her second term without opposition.

Brosseau’s continued leadership reflects strong community support for the steady, collaborative direction she and council have maintained since first being elected. Known for her focus on regional partnerships, family-friendly community growth, and responsible budgeting, Brosseau has led the town through a period of stability and revitalisation.

Familiar Faces Back at the Table

All six incumbent councillors were re-elected, resulting in no change to the composition of council. According to unofficial results submitted to Alberta Municipal Affairs, the 2025 Town of Bonnyville council will include:

  • Kayla Blanchette – 420 votes

  • Byron Johnson – 491 votes

  • Phil Kushnir – 435 votes

  • Neil Langridge – 457 votes

  • Brian McEvoy – 349 votes

  • David Sharun – 543 votes

Two other candidates—Christine (Tina) Michaud and Caitlyn Bush—also contested the election, meaning they ran for council seats but were not elected. Michaud received 317 votes, and Bush earned 293 votes.
