Lee Park Bridge Closed for Repairs

Travellers should prepare for a major detour starting today, October 17, 2025, as the Lea Park Bridge on Highway 897 is now closed for repairs.

Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors says the closure will remain in place indefinitely to allow crews time to complete the work safely.

Detour signs are posted, but officials remind drivers that TWP 542 is not permitted for heavy detour traffic. Please use Highway 45, Highway 646, or Highway 893 as alternate routes.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution—speeding fines are doubled in construction zones when workers are present.
