RCMP Arrest Suspect After Shooting in Saddle Lake
A man is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident that left one person seriously injured in Saddle Lake.
On Oct. 8, 2025, shortly before 1 p.m., Saddle Lake RCMP received a report of a man who had been shot in the neck. Officers responded immediately and arrested a suspect soon after the call. With support from other RCMP units, a second suspect was taken into custody later that afternoon, though no charges have been laid against that individual at this time.
The victim was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to Edmonton, where he remains in stable condition.
Police have charged 28-year-old Bailey Christopher Mason of Edmonton with several offences, including:
▪️ Aggravated assault
▪️ Discharge firearm with intent
▪️ Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
▪️ Unauthorized possession of a firearm
▪️ Careless use of a firearm
▪️ Breaking and entering with intent – residence
▪️ Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization (x6)
▪️ Possession of a prohibited weapon while knowing possession unauthorized
Mason was held for a judicial hearing and remains in custody. His next court appearance is set for Oct. 15, 2025, at the Cold Lake Court of Justice.
