Bonnyville RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a trailer full of merchandise caught fire behind the Home Hardware in Bonnyville on the morning of August 15, 2025.

 

Fire and Theft Discovered on Security Footage

 

At around 7:28 a.m., officers responded to a report of a fire in progress at the store’s loading dock. When they arrived, the trailer was already engulfed in flames. Later that day, store staff reviewed security footage and discovered the fire had been deliberately set at 7:12 a.m.

 

Further review of the video showed two individuals had entered the trailer earlier that morning to steal items before the blaze began.

 

RCMP Seeking Public Assistance

 

Police are now trying to identify the individuals captured on camera. Anyone who recognizes them or has information about the incident is asked to contact Bonnyville RCMP at 780-343-7200.
