With broken hearts, the family of Irene Zelia Lafreniere (née Robinson) of St. Paul, Alberta announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 93 years.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of cherished memories are her devoted children: Marcel (Susan) Lafreniere of Stony Plain, AB, Hector Lafreniere of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Gerry (Lisa) Lafreniere of St. Paul, AB, Lee-Ann Lafreniere of St. Paul, AB; son-in-law: Len Romanchuk; grandchildren: Lance, Roxanne, Corey (Heidi), Devon (Shanine), Jodi (Casey), Karley, Kevin (Thea), Jordan (Julie), Justin (Sarah), Brittni (Danny); treasured greatgrandchildren: Branden, Chloe, Forest, Ashton, Axel, Lilly, Tucker, Adalyn, Gracie, Nixon, Elyse, Mae, Rose, Belle, Heath; sister: Jeanne Hamel; brother-in-law: Leo (Georgette) Lafreniere; sisters-in-law: Georgette Lafreniere, Sharon Robinson; Irene also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Irene is being reunited with her husband of 64 years: Germain “Gerry” Lafreniere; daughter: Louise Romanchuk; parents: Francis & Annette Robinson; granddaughter: Jessie Irene Lafreniere; sisters: Albina (Lionel) Gagne, Germaine (Noel) Hebert, Helen (Gerry) Fontaine, Henriette (Roland) Poulin, Alma (Camille) Robinson; brother: Lionel “Leo” Robinson; brother-in-law: Hector Hamel.
