Bonnyville Celebrates Opening of First Pharmacist-Led Clinic at Tellier Guardian Pharmacy

Bonnyville, AB — September 25, 2025 — Neighborly Pharmacy, together with Tellier Guardian Pharmacy, is proud to announce the grand opening of Bonnyville’s first pharmacist-led clinic, marking a significant investment in community-based healthcare.

The new clinic will provide patients with faster access to treatment for minor ailments, medication reviews, travel consultations, and other essential services—delivered with the personalized care that only a community pharmacy can provide.

Cory Sydorenko, Pharmacy Director for Western Canada with Neighborly Pharmacy, emphasized the importance of the new clinic during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“This clinic represents more than just a new service. It’s a reflection of our commitment to improving access to care in the communities we serve,” said Sydorenko. “Local pharmacies are the heartbeat of healthcare, and we’re proud to invest in initiatives that empower our pharmacists to do even more for their patients.”

The event also recognized the leadership of Tellier Guardian’s pharmacy manager, Tanis, who was instrumental in bringing the clinic to life.

“I’m so proud to be a part of this new venture in our community,” said Tanis. “We’ll be doing anything from medication reviews to prescribing for minor ailments, and sometimes it’s just easier to come in and see us one-on-one than waiting for a doctor’s appointment. We can’t replace physicians—we simply help fill the gap and make it easier for patients to see someone in a timely fashion.”

Mayor Elisa Brosseau, speaking on behalf of the Town of Bonnyville and council, praised the initiative as a forward-thinking investment in local health services.

“This clinic is an important investment in the health and wellbeing of our community,” said Brosseau. “Being the first of its kind in our area is very exciting. Seeing a pharmacist-led clinic in Bonnyville will lead the way for innovative community-based health services.”

The opening celebration concluded with a community barbecue in partnership with Notre Dame High School, with donations collected in support of the school’s 2025 graduating class.
