Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland is reflecting on his years in office and outlining priorities for the future, from healthcare and safety to development and community spirit.

Tribute to Service

“I’ve been fortunate to work with some very dedicated councillors and staff, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Copeland said. “Cold Lake has always been about resilience, and that’s what keeps this city moving forward.”

Elections & Development

With the municipal election ahead, Copeland stressed the need for steady leadership.
“People want to know that the city is being managed responsibly,” he said. “Development has to match the needs of families and businesses, and we need to keep planning for the long term.”

MRI & Economic Growth

Healthcare was a key focus, with Copeland tying access to broader prosperity.
“An MRI here in Cold Lake isn’t just about convenience—it’s about building the services that families expect when they choose to live here,” he explained. “Strong healthcare helps us attract workers, keep families in town, and diversify our economy.”

Safety & Community Events

On safety and local events, Copeland was clear.
“Working with the RCMP and emergency services is a top priority—we want residents to feel safe,” he said. “At the same time, our festivals and events are what make this a place people want to stay. They bring us together and they bring people to our community.”
