City of Cold Lake: Nominations close for 2025 Municipal Election
With nominations for the upcoming municipal election officially closed, residents can start planning their visit to the polls.
The municipal election on Oct. 20, 2025 gives voters an opportunity to select a mayor and six councillors to lead the City of Cold Lake for the next four-year-term.
Running for mayor are three candidates (listed in alphabetical order):
- Sherri Buckle
- Bob Mattice
- Ty Mikolas
Running for councillor are 11 candidates (listed in alphabetical order):
- Ryan Bailey
- Glenn Barnes
- Raymond Cowell
- Hussein Elkadri
- Sarah Fewchuk
- Curtis Huizingh
- Vicky Lefebvre
- James Anthony McDonald
- Bill (William) Parker
- Chris Vining
- Dawn Weber
Polling stations will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Oct. 8 at the TriCity Mall
Oct. 10 at the Cold Lake Seniors’ Society
Oct. 15 at the Energy Centre – Reid Field House
Oct. 20 at the Energy Centre – Reid Field House
When voting, residents will be required to show a piece of accepted identification, as well as reside in the City of Cold Lake, be a Canadian Citizen, and be at least 18 years old. Voters may select up to one mayor candidate and up to six councillor candidates on their ballot.
For anyone who will be unable to vote in person at one of the advanced polls or on voting day, applications for special ballots are open until Oct. 6.
