CF-188 Hornets to Soar Over Cold Lake for Battle of Britain Parade
Cold Lake will look to the skies on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as multiple CF-188 Hornet aircraft from 4 Wing conduct a ceremonial flypast to mark the annual Battle of Britain Parade.
Flypast Details
The Hornets will pass above the Legion Cenotaph on 10th Street at approximately 11:10 a.m. The aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level, offering a powerful salute to veterans and all who serve.
Honour and Safety
The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) carefully plans and controls every flypast to ensure public safety. Events like this provide a chance for Canadians to witness the skills of RCAF personnel and the capabilities of their aircraft.
Weather and Operations
Aircraft participation is always subject to weather conditions and operational requirements, meaning times and appearances could change.
About the Battle of Britain Parade
The Battle of Britain Parade is held annually to honour the bravery of Allied aircrew who defended the United Kingdom against the German Luftwaffe in 1940. For more than 80 years, Canadians have paused to reflect on their sacrifice and the enduring importance of air power in defending freedom.
