Smoky Lake RCMP and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision involving an oil tanker semi-truck on Highway 855 near Township Road 580 late Thursday morning.

 

The crash, reported around 10:03 a.m., did not result in any injuries. However, the impact caused a fire, which fire crews worked to contain while traffic in both directions was redirected.

 

 

Update from RCMP

 

By 12:43 p.m., RCMP confirmed they had cleared the scene. Clean-up operations remain ongoing, with one lane of alternating traffic open as crews continue working in the area.
