Survey looks at public transportation needs in St. Paul & Elk Point area

Residents in the St. Paul and Elk Point region are being asked about their transportation habits in order to find solutions.

STEP (St. Paul & Elk Point) Economic Development Alliance received a Canada Rural Transit Fund grant for a Rural Public Transportation Study in 2024.

As part of the study, residents are asked to participate in a survey, that aims to learn more about habits, requirements, and concerns throughout the region.

The survey was generated after discussions with seniors housing staff, family and social services providers, and post-secondaries.

This is for County of St. Paul, Towns of St. Paul and Elk Point, and Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay residents, aged 15 and up.

“Before any public transit options can be explored and implemented, we need to understand the transportation needs and travel habits in our community,” the explanation reads.

“This will help us determine the feasibility of these options throughout the region.”
