Lakeland Connect is looking for a dynamic, creative, and confident storyteller to join our team as a Writer, Content Creator, and Video Personality. If you can write compelling stories, light up on camera, and engage audiences across platforms, this could be your next big move.

This is not an entry-level role. We’re seeking someone with a strong foundation in media, marketing, or broadcasting—but we’ll train you in our unique Lakeland Connect style.

What You’ll Do

• Research, write, and publish articles for our website and social media

• Appear on camera as a host or personality for video segments and live broadcasts

• Create engaging multimedia content for web, social, and broadcast channels

• Manage and schedule content using Meta Business Suite and other platforms

• Collaborate with our team to develop new story ideas, series, and features

• Represent Lakeland Connect at community events, networking with local leaders, businesses, and residents

• Operate and assist with production equipment including NewTek TriCaster and Adobe Creative Suite

You’ll Excel If You Have

• Post-secondary training in marketing, broadcasting, social media, journalism, or 3+ years of experience in a related role

• Strong writing skills—clear, concise, and engaging

• Social media experience (posting, scheduling, analytics, content strategy)

• WordPress experience for publishing and editing content

• Knowledge of broadcast, radio, or television production

• The ability to plan, manage, and execute your own schedule—no handholding required

• Great soft skills: punctuality, professional appearance, strong public speaking, and confidence when interacting with the public

• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle

• A personal social media following

• Video editing, graphic design, or photography skills

• Experience with Vimeo, live streaming, and multi-platform content distribution
