St. Paul RCMP officer Cst. Evan Peacock’s trial on child porn & child luring November 2026
The St. Paul RCMP officer accused of multiple crimes that involve sexual activity with youths will have a pre-trial conference in September before a trial next year.
Cst. Evan Peacock, 34, was originally arrested and charged in April 2024, with two counts each of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography, following an ALERT Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) investigation.
Then a couple months later, Peacock was arrested again after allegedly soliciting sex with underage females online. He was charged with luring a child and failing to comply with release order conditions.
Following a Crown indictment in June, court proceedings are now at St. Paul Court of King’s Bench.
The matter continued on Tuesday, and a pre-trial conference is slated for Sept. 18.
The trial for all the charges is scheduled for Nov. 23-27 in St. Paul.
Background
Cst. Peacock was a three-year member of the RCMP and was suspended with pay following the April arrest.
According to the original press release, ALERT’s investigation began in November 2023 when the suspect allegedly uploaded two videos depicting child sexual exploitation to Snapchat. ALERT was notified via the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Center.
Evidence was seized from the suspect’s St. Paul home following a search warrant operation.
After being released with conditions after the initial arrest, Eastern Alberta District General Investigative Section conducted the second investigation.
