Lac La Biche County declares Municipal Agricultural Disaster
Lac La Biche County is also signalling how dry conditions are at the moment.
At a special council meeting on Tuesday, council declared a Municipal Agricultural Disaster. This follows what the M.D. of Bonnyville did last week, pointing out the drought like conditions plaguing farmers.
“This declaration is in response to the ongoing drought affecting our region, and it calls attention to the serious challenges our local agricultural producers are facing,” LLB County said in a social media post.
“Letters will be sent to both Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, to emphasize the urgency of the situation and advocate for support for our agricultural community.”
