Authorities are assessing dead Canadian geese along Jessie Lake

The Town of Bonnyville has been made aware of concerns regarding dead Canada geese along Jessie Lake.

The cause is currently unknown. Alberta Fish and Game authorities have been notified and are assisting with the investigation.

“Please avoid the area and do not approach any geese,” an advisory issued by the Town says.

If you observe any suspicious activity or irregular behavior in the geese, please contact the Town of Bonnyville immediately.

Town staff are working closely with provincial officials to assess the situation and, if necessary, remove any affected birds to ensure public and environmental safety.
