Hearts were broken with the passing of Keith Lockett on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Cold Lake, Alberta at the age of 68 years. Keith was a beloved husband, brother, friend, and companion whose kindness and positive attitude touched everyone who knew him.
Keith is deeply mourned by his wife, Bev Lockett, and their two cherished fur babies, Nova and Price, who brought him endless joy and companionship. He also leaves behind his twin brother Rick Lockett (Jane) of Peterborough, Ontario, his sister Kathy Gowan (Jean-Pierre Lacombe) of Sainte-Julie, Quebec, and his sister-in-law Sandra Connors of Point au Mal, Newfoundland.
Keith’s life was enriched by an incredible circle of friends, each of whom he held close to his heart. His warmth, unique sense of humour, and antics have given them many memories and will cause them to chuckle when they hear his name.
Keith will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the laughter he shared generously, and the quiet strength he carried through life. He will be remembered for his toughness and fight he showed when he battled various medical challenges including a double lung transplant. He always pulled through with grit, determination, and a smile. His story is certainly one which continues to motivate others. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Keith was proud to serve his country as a member of the Canadian Air Force. He was very proud to be an Armourer. He loved to get together with his brothers and sisters to share a story about their service, shenanigans and adventures. He was also honoured to be active in the Legion, especially when he was able to help out a fellow veteran – this motivated him.
To celebrate Keith’s life, there will be a Legion service followed by a lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 211 in Cold Lake on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Many thanks to the Lung Transplant team at the University of Alberta whose work gave Keith many more years to enjoy life. Thank you as well to the third floor staff at the Cold Lake hospital. Your compassion will never be forgotten. Rest easy Keith. Until we meet again.
