All the registered candidates so far in the 2025 Municipal Elections

While it’s still a few months away, many locals have already submitted their nomination packages ahead of the 2025 Municipal Election. 

The deadline for nominations is September 22, approximately a month before the election day of Monday, October 20.

So far we know for certain that two communities in the Lakeland will have a new leader. 

Cold Lake and St. Paul mayors, Craig Copeland and Maureen Miller, respectively, have each confirmed they will not seek re-election. 

However, Town of Bonnyville’s mayor Elisa Brosseau’s nomination papers are in, according to the Town of Bonnyville website, as well as M.D. of Bonnyville Reeve Barry Kalinski. 

Here is the list of confirmed candidates so far.

Town of Bonnyville 

Mayor:

• Elisa Brosseau

Councillor: 

• Kayla Blanchette (incumbent, elected 2021)
• Caitlyn Bush
• Christine (Tina) Michaud

City of Cold Lake 

Mayor: 

• Bob Mattice (current councillor)
• Sherri Buckle
• Ty Mikolas

Councillor:  

• Ryan Bailey (incumbent, elected 2021)
