Speeding driver attempts to evade police, arrested
Elk Point RCMP along with fellow detachments were able to disable a vehicle after it attempted to run from a traffic stop.
Around midnight into Saturday, June 21st, members of the Elk Point RCMP were conducting patrols on Fishing Lake Metis Settlement.
Police attempted a traffic stop with a vehicle they say was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The suspect vehicle attempted to evade police.
With the help of neighbouring detachments, and Police Dog Services, they stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupants without incident.
Conway Moyah, 23, of Fishing Lake, has been charged with flight from a peace officer, operating a conveyance while prohibited, and dangerous operation of a conveyance.
Moyah was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on $100 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 3rd, 2025 at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul.
