Two people perish in plane crash near Vermilion

Two people tragically perished on Saturday afternoon after a plane crash just north of the Vermilion airport.
On Saturday, June 21, at 12:24PM, Vermilion RCMP was dispatched to a plane crash north of town.
Police said the plane was located approximately 1.2 km short of the local airport runway.
There were two occupants in the plane: the 46-year-old female pilot, a resident of Slave Lake, and a 76-year-old male passenger, a resident of Mannville, who did not survive the crash.
This incident is being investigated by Transportation Safety Board.
RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of both deceased.
