Bonnyville RCMP involved in 159 investigations last week

Three people are charged after an investigation into stolen tools.

On Friday, June 13 at 1:00AM a pickup truck with work tools was stolen from a hotel parking lot on 52 Avenue in Bonnyville. 

The next night, Cold Lake RCMP found the truck at a restaurant in the city.

Kayla Pascal, of Cold Lake, Charmaine Large of Saddle Lake, and Brandon Jacknife of Cold Lake First Nations, were all charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. 

Jacknife was additionally charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Drive while Prohibited, and Failing to Comply with a Release Order Condition. 

Their court matters are all set for Cold Lake Provincial Court.

Vehicle fire

On Friday, June 13 at 8:30PM, the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority attended a fire in a field just off Range Road 455 near Township Road 622.

The source to be a pickup truck that was on fire. 

Bonnyville RCMP determined the grey 2007 GMC Sierra had been stolen from Sherwood Park three weeks before. 

Anyone with information regarding this theft of and arson to truck is urged to contact the Bonnyville RCMP or Crimestoppers.

B&E

A 35-year-old is facing mischief and other charges after an incident at a Bonnyville business.

On Tuesday, June 17 just before 1:00AM, Bonnyville RCMP were alerted to a Break & Enter in progress at a local business on the 6200 block of 52 Ave in Bonnyville. 

Upon arrival, RCMP found the suspect still on scene in possession of break-in tools. 

Kristijan Gajic-Vukic, 35, was arrested and charged with Possession of Break-In Tools, Mischief and Trespassing. 

He was remanded into custody and his next court appearance is set for June 24.

Roadside checks

Of the roadside checks conducted between June 13-20, Bonnyville RCMP issued Impaired Driving Provincial Sanctions to three drivers and a drug related 24 hour suspension to 1 driver:

  • 50 year old female from Bonnyville in the MD of Bonnyville.
  • 70 year old male from Glendon caught driving impaired in Glendon.
  • 33 year old male from Lethbridge caught driving impaired in Bonnyville.
  • 38 year old female from Bonnyville, 24 hour suspension in Bonnyville.
