Jacko re-elected as Chief of Cold Lake First Nations with resounding victory

Kelsey Jacko is still the Chief.
Cold Lake First Nations election for Chief and nomination for Council were held on Wednesday evening, with Jacko earning the most votes out of the six candidates (Roger Marten, Dwayne Nest, Jacinta Janvier, Elizabeth Minoose-Flores, and George Machatis) at nearly 50 per cent of the electoral turnout.
He has been at the position since his election in 2022.
Official results shown on the CLFN’s stream of the proceedings showed these results out of 893 votes.

- Jacinta Janvier: 164
- Elizabeth Minoose-Flores: 128
- Roger Marten: 113
- George Machatis: 32
- Dwayne Nest: 25
With the nominations for Council now complete, the election will be June 25. OneFeather is conducting the election.
