According to the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority, “Earlier today, a hazardous material spill occurred at a business in the 4500 block of 68 Street. The spill has been contained, and cleanup procedures are currently underway and expected to continue throughout the day.
“As a precaution, nearby homes and businesses have been evacuated. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and should any further evacuations be necessary, the public will be notified immediately.
“We thank the public for their cooperation and urge everyone to avoid the area while response efforts continue.”
