Cold Lake Joins the 2025 Canadian Walk for Veterans to Honour Those Who Serve

This September, Cold Lake is stepping up for a cause that hits close to home.

On the weekend of September 20–21, Cold Lake will take part in the 8th Annual Canadian Walk for Veterans—a nationwide movement that brings together communities to support and honour Veterans, active service members, and their families. It’s all part of a cross-country initiative organized by the True Patriot Love Foundation, Canada’s leading charity dedicated to the military community.

This year’s theme, “Veteran Transition: Honouring the Past, Supporting the Journey,” reminds us of the real-life challenges Veterans face when adjusting to life after service. The walk is more than just steps—it’s a show of support, a conversation starter, and a chance to walk alongside others who care.

Whether you’re in Cold Lake or anywhere else in the country, you can join the movement. Choose a local walk or take part in the Virtual Walk—on your street, your trail, your terms. Every registration helps raise funds for critical programs supporting Veterans and their families—everything from mental health care to transition support.

And yes, every registered walker receives a special keepsake: the 2025 Canadian Walk for Veterans challenge coin, designed and produced by Veteran-owned Sharkz Coins in Esquimalt, BC.
