Bonnyville Man Arrested Following Viking RCMP Warrant Execution

A Bonnyville resident is facing multiple charges after RCMP executed a search warrant in the Town of Viking.

On May 24, 2025, Viking RCMP conducted a search at a property within the town, leading to the arrest of James Dennis Miller-Laney, a 39-year-old man from Bonnyville, Alberta.

Miller-Laney was wanted on five outstanding warrants for offences in the Eastern Alberta region and now faces four new charges, stemming from alleged crimes against a person in Viking and surrounding communities.

He has been formally charged with the following:

  • Obstructing a peace officer

  • Three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order

Following his arrest, Miller-Laney was brought before a justice of the peace, where he was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Camrose on May 28, 2025.
