Derek is lovingly survived by his wife: Norma Jean Chalifoux; children: Alexandria Marie Hunter, Destiney Angel Hunter, Justice Faith Hunter, Cashton Hunter “Atikat”; mother: Violet “Vi” Jackson; step father: Philip Hunter; step children: Cory Chalifoux, Kyle Chalifoux (Billiejean), Kyanna Chalifoux, Lana Chalifoux, Louann Chalifoux; grandchildren: Devon, Deshawn, Drevyn, Denzel, Shayden, Waylon, Scarlett, Sireen; siblings: Brett Jackson (Stanley), Gilbert J. Hunter; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends.

Derek was predeceased by his grandchildren: Shanice Chalifoux, Darion Chalifoux; maternal grandparents: Tony & Elizabeth Berard; paternal great grandparents: Steve & Alice Whitford.
