Study about flooding to cover Two Hills: Province
The provincial government has listed Two Hills as one of the next communities to get a flood map.
Seven new flood maps studies are underway in Alberta, as the province touted their speed in producing more flood maps in the past five years than in the previous 35 years.
Work will begin immediately, the government says, for a community like Two Hills, which is one of the seven included. The hope is that results will be available by the end of the year.
“Alberta Municipalities congratulates the provincial government for accelerating its flood mapping for communities of all sizes throughout Alberta. Our members count on accurate, up-to-date flood maps to guide their communities’ development and assist with their emergency management planning,” said Tyler Gandam, president, Alberta Municipalities, in a press release.
