Connor Woods wins silver at Nationals in Weight Throw

Second place in the nation ain’t bad at all, but with the high standard Connor Woods sets for himself, it wasn’t the result he wanted.
But that’s just a credit to the incredible work he’s put in.
What an indoor track and field season for the 16-year-old from Bonnyville, who won Provincials in Weight Throw just a few weeks ago, getting himself ranked first in the county in U18 Weight Throw.
At Nationals this past weekend, his top throw of 20.66 metres was unable to vault himself to gold, but with another season to come at the same level, the sky is seemingly the limit for this young athlete.
The football player and track star has worked with the Lakeland Yellowjackets and Immortal Strength & Conditioning, putting in the hours to get to his coveted spot.
