Two people charged after Jan. fraud at Bonnyville business

Two people have been charged after a fraud scheme at a Bonnyville business saw them leave a store with thousands of dollars in tools.

Bonnyville RCMP put out an update on Friday from an incident from Jan. 28. 

An unknown male suspect contacted a local business requesting help in purchasing tools.

After tools were loaded into the vehicle and the man left, the credit card was found to be fraudulent.

As a result of their investigation, Bonnyville RCMP have identified and arrested two individuals in connection to this fraud.

Devon Salisbury, a 37-year-old resident of Edmonton, and Ashley Andrews, a 36-year-old resident of Edmonton, have been charged with the following offences:

  • Fraud over $5000
  • False pretences over $5000
  • Forgery
  • Identity theft

Devon Salisbury was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remained into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville.

Ashley Andrews was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order. She is scheduled to appear in court on Apr. 1, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville.
