With broken hearts, the family of Jody Lawrence John of Kehewin Cree Nation, Alberta, announces his unexpected passing on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 42. A beloved husband, father, son, and brother; Jody’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Michelle Wells, and their cherished children: Handsome Prince, Julia, Camilo, Priscilla, Sophia, Summer, K’Aylah, Khiana, Kariah, Keagin; he will also be mourned by his children: Emry (Tommy), Embrose, Jacob, Preston, and Josie.
Jody will also be dearly remembered by his parents, Melvin & Rosa John, and his sisters: Monique (Chris) and their children Stryder, Maria-Luisa & Miguel; Violet (Tony) and their children Manaya, Naiche, Nitanis & Victorio; Beany (Kaitlyn) and their children Aubrey & Paul; he will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.
Jody was predeceased by his grandparents: George & Julia Kehewin and Miguel Angel & Consuelo Sague, and now holds his unborn baby in his loving arms.
Jody’s love, kindness, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Pallbearers: Preston Shirt-John, Keagin Wells, Paden Shirt, Dean John, Tommy Bland, Tyson Paul. Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob Shirt-John, Tony Duncan, Christopher Taylor, Dave Janvier. Final Resting Place, St. Josephs Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kehewin Cree Nation, Alberta.
