Town of Bonnyville Announces Official Results of 2024 Municipal Census
The 2024 Municipal Census results show Bonnyville continues to thrive as a vibrant and dynamic community.
The Town of Bonnyville is pleased to announce Bonnyville’s new population is 6,675. This marks an increase from the 2021 Statistics Canada Census, which recorded a population of 6,359.
Municipal Affairs sent Mayor Elisa Brosseau and the Town Administration notice of the official results at the end of January. The ministry reviews all municipal census results and confirms that the municipalities’ methodology is consistent with the Municipal Census Regulations.
Unfortunately, the Town of Bonnyville’s shadow population did not meet the threshold for inclusion in the 2024 Municipal Census.
The updated population data will be crucial to the town’s planning and funding decisions. Accurate population figures help ensure Bonnyville receives appropriate provincial and federal funding and inform infrastructure development, community services, and other key municipal initiatives.
