Mayor Maureen Miller will not seek re-election in St. Paul in 2025
The Town of St. Paul will have a new Mayor in 2025.
Maureen Miller, who has served in the mayoral role since 2017, told Lakeland Connect she will not seek re-election in the fall election.
“I’m very grateful to have held this position, but it is time for me to move onto other opportunities,” she said.
Miller was elected in the 2017 municipal election, defeating Glenn Andersen to unseat the incumbent.
She ran unopposed and was acclaimed in the 2021 election.
Before politics, Miller served as a school board chair.
“I have had always considered would be a time where I would quit doing public service. I guess many years, it’ll be eight with mayor and council, and I served many years on the school board and trustee and chair,” Miller said.
“I’d now like to provide volunteer services to nonprofit organizations. And I might include a little more travel, with a little more flexibility to my schedule.”
The nomination period is now open for the fall municipal election is slated for October 20, 2025.
Prospective candidates can submit their papers up until Sept. 22.
