Lloyd man caught embezzling $300,000 from Minor Hockey Association

On Sept. 27, 2024, Lloydminster RCMP received a report of money being embezzled from the Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association.

Through the course of the investigation it was learned that over $300,000 dollars had been taken from the association through fraud and theft over a period spanning 5 years.

As a result of this investigation, Aaron Troy Foster, a 42-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Fraud Over $5000
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Criminal Breach of Trust
  • False Pretence

Foster was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 28, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
