Ben Berlinguette hired as new M.D. of Bonnyville CAO

The M.D. of Bonnyville has found their new Chief Adminstrative Officer.
Ben Berlinguette has accepted the position as the new CAO, the municipality announced on Tuesday, and will begin on Feb. 3.
The St. Paul area native was working as the Town of Valleyview’s CAO before resigning to accept this position.
“We are excited to have Mr. Berlinguette on board and look forward to working with him as we continue to serve and enhance our community,” said Reeve Barry Kalinski in a press release. “Please join us in welcoming Ben to the team.”
Berlinguette will replace the outgoing Al Hoggan, who was let go by the M.D. in early October.

With a career spanning over 20 years, encompassing both public and private sector experience, Berlinguette brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and dedication, the M.D. says.
He holds qualifications in Civil Engineering Technology from NAIT, certifications in Local Government Management, Project Management, and Incident Command Systems, among others.
His career includes key roles in various municipalities, including Thorhild County, Foothills County, the Town of Valleyview, and the City of Edmonton.
Berlinguette has worked with a wide range of industries, from oil and gas to transportation and environmental services. This experience is complemented by his dedication to volunteerism, having served on numerous boards and committees, where he has earned recognition for his contributions.
As CAO, Berlinguette will play a critical role in guiding the municipality toward a future of responsible growth and sustainability. His experience managing large budgets, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and his commitment to strong governance and effective communication will ensure the M.D. remains a place where residents can thrive, and industry can grow.
