WATCH: World Jr A Challenge, the chaos of player movement, and mid-season AJHL Awards

In another roundtable discussion, four of the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s top play-by-play guys discuss some of the pressing issues surrounding the league and junior hockey at the moment.

This includes the start of the World Jr. A Challenge in Camrose on Monday, with Team Canada West having 13 AJHL players make the team, selected by Lloyd Bobcats GM Nigel Dube.

In the wake of the decision that allows Canadian Hockey League (CHL/Major Junior) players eligibility to play in the NCAA, something that had previously never been allowed, they discuss how that has resulted in a flurry of player movement. Whether it’s the BCHL and USHL having players leave to the CHL, BCHL players transferring back to Alberta, or AJHL players moving up the WHL, it’s been a chaotic time.

And with being right near the mid-way point of the season and a two-week stretch before the league goes dormant for Christmas, they discuss their mid-season picks for AJHL awards.
